Yay, knitting!

Yay, knitting!

can you believe they pay me to do this?
can you believe they pay me to do this?

So what's this then?

Welcome to my blog. I'm a knitter, voraciously and vociferously so. I am fortunate enough to be working in a yarn store in Saratoga, CA, where I'm Knitting Doctor and Teacher of Workshops.

Since I still have to work for a living, I am also a webdesigner.

Originally from Sweden, I now live (with my hubby, 2 daughters, and 2 cats) in Santa Cruz, CA.

28 October 06 - 18:25Workshops are exhausting!

Wow, that was a handfull. My lower back is aching, and there's more to come tomorrow! Oh well, no rest for the wicked :)

27 October 06 - 13:11time? What's that??

Work, work, work. I had to rip out the Tunisian crochet piece I was working on, it just was *not* happening. So I restarted it, and rrawr! I'm loving it!! The serious question of whether I have a chance to have it done by tomorrow morning still remains though...

Oh, and I need a digital camera! All the instruction stuff for Tunisian crochet 2 would be so much better if I had pictures. :/

21 October 06 - 19:34Stitch 'n Bitch

Made it to the stitch 'n bitch today, it was very nice. 6 people total, and I ran in to a Norwegian guy at the cafe. He was very sweet, and embarrassed when he realized I understood his cussing when he knocked over his coffee :D He's a student at UCSC for his PhD, and expressed a fascination with knitting for its mathematical properties :)

21 October 06 - 03:25I should be in bed...

...but I'm working on some entrelac knitting for a workshop. I think it would be a lot of fun and I'm planning a small purse or similar, but I obviously have to make the darn thing and write out the pattern before I can really approach Jan and say "hey, check this out!"... oh well, sleep is overrated anyway.

Speaking of workshops, I did one on the fastest x-mas stocking ever a couple of weeks ago. One of the ladies brought orange and black yarn and made a halloween stocking! Then she sent me a picture!!

Isn't it just a hoot?!?

20 October 06 - 21:51Friday night at Peet's

Had two students at Peet's in Capitola today. Gabby didn't show, but Becky did! She's working on her beaded hat from Folk Hats - boy that book has some real doozies! Very nifty, very cute, but some are things I would never put on my head...

But then again, I don't wear hats, so who am I to talk! :D

20 October 06 - 13:21That's better

I'm beginning to like this... I'm fully expecting to be tweaking this thing for a *while*, and it's actually pretty enjoyable. I like the interface a lot... and of course, it keeps me from doing actual *work* ;)

19 October 06 - 04:13*tap, tap* is this thing on?

Ok, let's see if this attempt at actual blogging is more successful... (more)
